Fieldwork at Métis and 'Multicultural' Events
My ethnographic research centres on understanding the ways in which Métis music and dance are mobilized for political purposes by Métis and settler communities: what (implicit and explicit) political goals do Métis-led cultural festivals serve, and how might these differ from the goals of settler-led cultural events that include Métis music and dance?
